Welcome to St Alban's CE Primary School A very warm welcome to St Alban’s school.
St Alban’s is a one form entry CE Primary school with Nursery. As a church school, we serve the diverse local community and pride ourselves on our supportive and inclusive ethos which reflects our school motto of “Faith, Hope, Love”.
It is our aim that every child leaves St Alban’s as a confident, independent and enthusiastic learner, with strong personal aspirations and determination to succeed.
The staff team work incredibly hard to help every child achieve the highest standards that they can during their time with us. We want our children to do their very best so that they are well prepared for the next stage in their education.
Our Collective Worship team is made of 6 volunteers from year 6. The aim of the team is to prepare, lead and evaluate our daily worship as well as invite the school community to join in prayer. They work closely with the Deputy Headteacher and the clergy to ensure that the delivery of worship is high quality and engages all adults. The team are also responsible for solely planning, preparing and delivering worship with the Headteacher on Monday’s during the Summer term.
Responsibilities
The school has a rigorous monitoring system in place in order to track pupils’ safety and wellbeing. This could at times include contacting Social Care or other outside agencies, if concerns are raised. The school will always endeavour to continue good communication with parents with regards to any concerns.
The local authority requires Headteachers to report any obvious or suspected case of child abuse - which includes non-accidental injury, severe physical neglect, emotional abuse and/or sexual abuse. This procedure is intended to protect children at risk and schools are encouraged to take the attitude that where there are grounds for suspicion it is better to be safe than sorry. This does mean that Headteachers risk upsetting some parents by reporting a case which, on investigation, proves unfounded. In such circumstances, it is hoped that parents and carers, appreciating how difficult it is for Headteachers to carry out this delicate responsibility, would accept that the Headteacher was acting in what were believed to be the child's best interest.
