St. John of God School is located at Island bridge in Dublin. The school caters for pupils aged four to eighteen years of age who have moderate, severe or profound general learning disabilities. We also have classes for students who have ASD with moderate, severe/profound general learning disabilities. Our school strives to prepare each pupil for life to the best of his/her ability.  We recognize that each pupil has individual talents and this is reflected in our teaching approach. Experiential learning is the main focus of the school curriculum. Learning is fun and enjoyable for each student.

The mission of St. John of God School is to provide education appropriate to each pupil’s needs. We seek to achieve this through a suitable teaching strategies, a developmental life skills programme using a variety of learning materials.

The school promotes positive home-school contacts, not only in relation to the welfare of children, but in relation to all aspects of school life.  This policy is in keeping with the school ethos through the provision of a safe, secure and caring school environment and the furthering of positive home-school links.
