St Mary's Coptic Orthodox College

St Mary’s Coptic Orthodox College is an independent coeducational Christian College catering for students from foundation to year 12. The College was founded in 1991 and has grown into a well established community with over 800 students from christian backgrounds. Many of our students are bused to the College using our dedicated door to door bus service.The College is committed to upholding the child safe standards Ministerial Order 870.

As a Coptic Orthodox College, we recognise that we exist to foster and develop, within an Orthodox environment, an awareness of Christ and His teachings. We seek to do this by providing and maintaining the general spiritual, safe atmosphere where children are nurtured and developed in the Coptic Orthodox faith. We see maintaining the Coptic identity and the teaching of the Coptic Orthodox religion and Coptic language as essential for the College.

We aim to create a positive atmosphere in which children and young people can grow and learn, developing a high level of personal integrity and a sincere respect of others with their varying cultural, academic and socio-economic differences.

At St Mary's Coptic Orthodox College, we respect and appreciate the value of each person as an individual. We encourage children and young people to be aware of the demands of living in a multicultural society. It is our aim to develop self-respect, self-determination, personal initiative and a sense of community to prepare them to be respected and honourable citizens in a global community.

St Mary’s Coptic Orthodox College is committed to creating a culture of child safety to lower or eliminate as much as possible risk of harm to children and young people. Our school will continue to strive to provide the best education we can; one which will equip students with spiritual, cultural and international awareness whilst always keeping within the confines of our Coptic Orthodox belief and traditions.
