St Vincent's College

Our students and staff would love to talk to you about the learning culture that informs, transforms and empowers. The best way to do this is at an Enrolment Morning Tea, or Open Afternoon. We encourage you to come and feel the spirit of the place. It is hard to explain but it has been nurtured and passed between generations of young women who have had an education based on advantage – not entitlement.

St Vincent’s College is a non-selective, contemporary Catholic day and boarding school for girls. The current ethos and approach is based on a belief that an independent education should provide advantage not entitlement.

The College avoids visible ostentation, balances opportunities with responsibilities and invites students to learn in a culture that is informing, transforming and empowering.

The girls treasure this spirit they affectionately call “Vinnies Spirit”. It is hard to define but easy to feel. A sense of optimism, cheerfulness and with a good dose of quirky!

The motto ‘Scientia cum Religione’ (knowledge and faith united) calls us to take the wisdom and understanding that comes with education and combine it with the virtues and values of religion – love, compassion, care, justice – so that we may truly live a life modelled on that of Jesus and his concern for people.

Essentially, as we look to a future filled with opportunity for women in Australia, St Vincent’s College is all about empowering young women to be independent in thought, compassionate in attitude and confident to act.

The Diverse Learning program is offered at St Vincent’s College as a whole school approach and is guided by the Sisters of Charity Values; Mary Aikenhead Educational Philosophy; Ignatian pedagogy; NESA guidelines for Special Education; NSW Department of Education and Training Special Education Students Policy, and NSW Department of Education and Training Gifted and Talented Students Policy.

As St Vincent's College is not academically selective we are ready and able to support students requiring extension or extra support in all or some of their subjects.
