This Year Sun Moon University welcomes its 46th anniversary of foundation and 32th anniversary of establishing the school, and so far has mainly received attention as a ‘ Gobal University. We have been striving to become a truly global’. We are still continuing , and have chosen the new slogan: ‘Re-create Yourself!’, This triggered the beginning of ‘Second Creation for a bigger world and future. Sun Moon, the place where all students, professors, and employees can re-create as one mind! I shall lead the way and be the pioneer. For the people of Sun Moon University that are re-created, our school possesses the following foundations.
First of all, our University has carried out the ‘3+1 Studying Abroad Programs’ for the first time in Korea, and by establishing an even more systematic studying overseas/scholarship system, we are leading the way in training global and outstanding individuals. As a result, we came in as the university with the highest proportion of foreign students domestically, and as the 13th highest in Asia consecutively for two years.
Second, we have established the ‘Glocal Campus for the local residents, companies, and schools nearby’ that connect the outstanding faculty of our University, businesses in our region, and the world, and is ambitiously operating regular classes as well as employment capability reinforcement programs for over 3,000 students during the vacation period. Even at this moment, at the ‘Sun Moon Glocal Campus’ 11,183 people of Sun Moon are re-creating themselves as global individuals that possess the theory and field work experience that was obtained through various school-work link and internship programs.
Third, we are located only five minutes away from the Cheonan and Asan KTX Station and the Asan metropolitan subway line, which only takes 33 minutes to get to Seoul, thus providing a convenient commune to school. In our extra-large and cutting edge dormitories, 3,700 students of Sun Moon are experiencing a global community with 1,100 foreign students from 80 countries around the world. In addition, the domestic and overseas connection footholds of the Sun Moon Academy, that is putting together the world at this moment, are actively supporting the re-creation of the people of Sun Moon.
Based on the idea of 'Love for God', SMU practices education and research to establish the absolute-value-oriented academic system and contributes to nurturing holistic men of character. With an idea of 'Love for Human', SMU contributes to nurturing global citizens giving a true humanity, a brotherhood of mankind and a true love for the realization of peace and happiness of human beings. On the basis of 'Love for Nation', SMU contributes to nurturing professionals who develop their creativity in various studies and technologies to serve for their societies, countries and the world.
SMU has established the three concepts of talent as 'man of character, global citizen, professional' to implement the university ideas and educational goals ', and has established a 'Glocal servant leader' as a specific concept of talent to meet the needs of nurturing competent people in diversified modern society as an education-oriented university. Glocal servant leader' is defined as a community-based creative talent who improves his ability (professional) on the basis of personality and confidence(man of character) and challenges the global stage(global citizen).

I'm not a student at this school, but I've been going to the lifelong learning center for classes for several months. It's a school with pretty flowers. When it said “Living Lab Korea?” I looked at it and it must have been about Sunmoon University. The spacious and peaceful campus... I would like to try the student cafeteria if I get the chance ^-^

What makes it different from other universities is that all the buildings are low in height, making it feel like a true university campus. It also shows that a lot of attention was paid to landscaping the trees.

I studied in Sun Moon University under the AUF student exchange programme with UKM National University of Malaysia during the Spring 2004 session for one semester.The experience was great and enriching. The lecturers and university staff were helpful and I made long term friendship with some of the students there (who are spread all over the world now) to this date.

It is a university full of responsibility and sincerity that fosters the dreams of students. Each and every professor puts their heart and soul into awakening young minds and teaching them to obtain qualifications. The spacious campus is vibrant, and even express limousine buses are on the way for students in the Seoul area. Employment is also possible at nearby Samsung and Hyundai Motors companies, and 15,000 companies are calling for graduates. We boast that we have 100% passed the nurse qualifications, and our excellent students are working hard to become officers in Korea.
