Working in collaboration with The University of Birmingham Dubai, Sunmarke students can now benefit from a new online resource for individuals who are applying to university for September.
The University of Birmingham, which is the first global top 100 and UK Russell Group university to establish a campus in Dubai, has developed a new way to support students and teachers during these unprecedented and challenging times.
Skills4Uni is one of the interactive resources which helps students to get a better idea of what studying at university looks like, and prepares them for the next phase of their academic journey, by getting them used to working independently, advising on how best to research, how to reference and how to identify different styles of delivery.
Lianne Brown, Business Studies Teacher and Assistant Head Teacher of Sunmarke School comments on the new resource, “Skills4Uni has proved to be extremely valuable for our students during the current climate. Many students are anxious about the transition to undergraduate study and by using this resource our students now feel better prepared for the next phase of their academic journey. Our students have found the resources on academic integrity, knowing how to research and reference information, particularly useful.”
Sunmarke, continues to implement other innovative and forward-thinking programmes that allow students to be future ready and springboard into success whatever their career pathway. The popular Head Start Programme at Sunmarke is delivered by highly experienced IB, A Level and BTEC specialists who have Outstanding track records in the UAE. It enables Year 11 students to get a taste for new subjects and a head start on the subjects they’d like to pursue at Sixth Form college in September. This interactive online course runs from April 25th until June 25th, 2020.
