Welcome to Tudor Primary School We are a local one form entry primary school and nursery at the heart of Finchley. We are a close, warm community focussed on learning and made up of dedicated staff, supportive parents, and children with a passion for learning. As a school we are committed to the highest standards of achievement and behaviour, and to constantly reflecting and improving so that we can do the very best for the children in our care.
Our children enthusiastically follow The Tudor Way, which underpins everything we do:
We are proud to be an inclusive school where we develop children as rounded individuals who respect and care for each other and behave well because they understand the right thing to do. Our staff are passionate about inspiring a love of learning in children, giving them a deep education and broad set of experiences.
We benefit from being in a Federation with Manorside Primary School; we share resources and facilities, our staff collaborate to do the best for their pupils, and our children take part in shared activities.
We believe passionately that the Early Years are essential to giving your child the best foundation to a happy and successful school career and life. We do this through a child-led and nurturing approach, where children learn through play. Our welcoming environment is carefully set up on a daily basis to provide enriching play activities for the children, through which they will learn all the skills from the Early Years framework including literacy, maths, and the skills of cooperation and independence.
Our nursery is led by a fully qualified teacher supported by a highly experienced Nursery Nurse. Our children benefit from a large space in a dedicated building, with a generous outdoor area which they can access independently. The nursery is a vital part of Tudor Primary School and most of our children go on to join the Reception class at Tudor.
We offer 30 hour places or 15 hours places (mornings or afternoons), either government funded or privately paid. We take children from the age of 3 years old, and most join us in September or January, though we occasionally have spaces in April.
We encourage interested parents to come for a visit. Applications to the nursery are direct via our school office. Places are offered on a first come, first serve basis with priority given to children who have older siblings at the school.
