Students, parents, and the public must rely solely on its official accredited channels for accurate updates regarding schools and academic matters
No semester or final exams have been cancelled in the UAE, the Education Ministry confirmed, denying circulating reports of their cancellation for the current academic year.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education emphasised that students, parents, and the public must rely solely on its official accredited channels for accurate updates regarding schools and academic matters.
The State Security Department of UAE also urged “everyone not to circulate rumours or unverified news, to obtain information only from official sources, and to report any security observations through the SSD service.”
On Saturday, UAE announced the decision to switch to remote learning starting from Monday, March 2, 2026, until Wednesday, March 4, 2026, for students, educational staff, and administrative personnel in all public and private schools and universities nationwide.
Following the ministries’ directive, the Sharjah Private Education Authority and the Sharjah Higher Education and Scientific Research Council have also announced the transition of studies to a distance learning system for the same time period.
The decision covers students, educational and administrative staff in all private educational institutions and higher education institutions in the emirate, with in-person studies to resume according to developments that will be announced at the appropriate time.
Private educational institutions across Dubai will switch to distance learning until Wednesday, March 4, as a precautionary measure “in light of ongoing regional developments”.
Dubai’s education regulator KHDA said the move was being implemented to ensure the continued safety and wellbeing of students, teachers and the wider education community.
“All private educational institutions in Dubai will implement distance learning until Wednesday, March 4, as a precautionary measure,” the statement read.
