Financial aspects of the construction process are managed by Quantity Surveyors. Quantity Surveying aims to maximize value and ensure that the project is completed within budget. Students will learn how to select, manage and coordinate the resources needed for the completion of a construction project. Computing resources to financially manage the development, construction and long-term operation of buildings, will also be discussed.
Applicants will be required to show proficiency in English with an IELTS score of 6.0 with no band below 5.5 is proof of this. They should also have a minimum grade C pass in English and Mathematics at GCSE O level (or equivalent).
Jobs for quantity surveyors are expected to grow by 6% from 2018 to 2028 as surveyors are needed to work on resource extraction projects and to review sites for construction work.
