Welcome to the University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shimoga. The University offers courses in the discipline of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry. Knowledge is imparted in these courses through highly qualified staff who follow a structured syllabi. Emphasis is given to improve skills of learning and wholesome personality development.

The jurisdictional area of the University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shimoga is endowed with integrated farming situations involving agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries and forestry. This provides a strong backdrop for ongoing educational programmes in the fields of agriculture, horticulture and forestry in the university at present and a justification for the proposed integration of veterinary and fisheries education also with this university in future.

Our Office is responsible for Admissions, enrollments, course managements, preparation of class schedules, commencement certification, degree verifications, final grades, transcript requirements, human resource development and general administration.

The University imparts education in Semester system having both internal and external evaluation. The University has adopted course curricula and syllabi as per ICAR Fourth Deans Committee recommendations with slight modifications. High emphasis is given to practical education through Experimental Learning and Rural Work Experience Programmes aiming at helping the graduates to become agricultural entrepreneurs rather than job seekers.
