Every fifth student at the university comes from abroad to pursue their bachelor’s or master’s degree, or doctorate in Mannheim. The University of Mannheim is sporty. From American football to zumba, the sports program has got something for almost everyone – and often for free, or at a low price. The Institute of Sports doesn’t just organize sports courses; it also runs a gym and regularly holds events including yoga workshops or sports days.

As a partner of top-class sports, we encourage athletes to participate in university championships or in the World University Games. Top athletes can receive a sports scholarship from the university.

Whether photography, a concert or a play – art moves us and helps us to see familiar things from a different perspective. That’s why the corridors and rooms at the university regularly host exhibitions by renowned artists. The Association of Arts and Culture of the German Economy awards the Bronnbach Scholarship to outstanding students from Mannheim so that they can develop cultural competences and gain insights into creative processes.
