The international is a priority in the strategy of development of the University of Picardie Jules Verne. Its presence on the international scene is manifested by the expansion of its network of partner universities, its participation in major exchange programmes and its accession to the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie and the Agency National Campus France.

In the early 60's, Amiens grouped together 4 pre-university level establishments : a national school of medicine and pharmacy, a law school, a science college and an arts school. However these structures did not supply a complete cycle of studies, forcing the students of Amiens to continue their studies elsewhere. Since the first education authority disappeared in 1848, the establishments in Amiens were governed by the Lille Academy.

The "LMD" reform (Licence, Master, Doctorat or Bachelor, Master, Doctorate) was introduced in order to harmonise European university qualifications and to promote student mobility and international study. Width the advent of the LMD system, international mobility is now a fully recognised component of university study.

Sudents coming under an exchange agreemnt attent the same classes and courses and are subject to te same assessments as local students. Grades obtained while studying abroad are recorded and validation by their university is guaranteed.

This course is completely free of charge, takes place throughout the academic year and refreshes and develops French language skills. Courses are available at different levels (elementary, intermediate, advanced and highly advanced) with 5 hours per week and per level: 2½ hours on French culture and civilization, 2½ hours on French language, making a total of 50 hours per semester. These courses can give up to 8 ECTS credits per semester for validation by the student’s home university. A FLE course registration form is sent to students and must be completed and returned to the Department of International Affairs prior to arrival.

The FLE Centre regularly offers courses in French for University Objectives (FUO), which feature intensive French language courses before the start of the academic year (at the beginning of September). These courses allow for a comprehensive review of language basics and help prepare students for university life in France. Conferences about France and cultural activities are also included in the programme. Furthermore, this course provides an ideal first opportunity for international students to meet up. A great way to start the year.

The education at the University of Amiens has been remarkable; the dedicated staff inspires excellence, and I've witnessed my child’s incredible growth and enthusiasm for learning.

The only real good point: The environment is exceptional; woods and fields surrounding the buildings of the University, many green areas, one can even see whole families of rabbits at night, the singing of birds is constant, resulting in a quiet and serene environment. Campus Station, connecting the entire city of Amiens by the bus network Ametis, is 20m from the University.

A quiet place where study becomes a passion. Their system allows any student to be able to integrate completely.

The overall good local, highly qualified teachers and exciting course for some. Because reasonable staffing and resources used, the mood remains quite and serene family. In some sectors, the rate of graduate employment is among the best in the country. Personally, I do not regret my choice.
