Our school combines the traditional values of discipline, respect and good behaviour with leading-edge practice in teaching and learning. We strive for every member of the school community to be the very best they can be. Our aim is to help our students develop into happy, educated young people with the desire and drive to succeed. We work hard to prepare our students to be good citizens with the skills to succeed in life beyond school in modern Britain.

As a high-performing Teaching School we strive to offer the very best facilities for our students. These include a sixth form block; state of the art physical education facilities including an Astro-turf pitch and tennis courts; a gym and sports hall; a drama studies; a music room; and a set of new science labs in our main building.

As a Teaching School the government has recognised our high-performing status to that we can offer professional training to all our staff. This helps to further raise academic standards. Valentines supports other schools and teacher training at all levels in the area. The school is also part of regional and national networks such as an SSAT, Leading Edge and the Education Development Trust Schools Partnership programme. We are truly at the ‘cutting edge’ of new educational developments and leave no stone unturned in seeking ways to further enhance the educational experience of each and every one of our students.

Indeed, our school motto is ‘In harmony, achieving excellence’ and everything we do is planned to enable us to achieve this vision. Our behaviour code focuses on respect for oneself and for others. We emphasise the importance of Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education in an environment where all faiths and cultures are respected. The school places a real emphasis on the quality of student experience. Our curriculum and extra curricular opportunities develop students character so they can play a full role in the life at and outside of school.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all professionals make sure their approach is child-centred. This means that they consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child. If children and families are to receive the right help at the right time, everyone who comes into contact with them has a role to play in identifying concerns, sharing information and taking prompt action.

Excellent School. A lot of students from this school become city bankers, accountants, doctors, lawyers and even world leaders.
