As the only school in the country, we offer social science from 1st grade. It helps to form citizens in society with knowledge of their rights, duties and responsibilities in the democratic community and promotes the acquisition of Danish culture, integration, understanding and respect for other cultures.
We do not want to be a protest school. But nevertheless, we think primary school does something wrong with multilingual children. We see the multilingual children as a great resource for the society. In the future, they can create a bridge between the global world and Denmark with their knowledge of cultures and strong language skills. That is why we say that our children must be leading not only in Denmark but throughout the world.
We are Danish but also have roots in the countries we originally come from. We see that as a strength. The vast majority of our parents were born and raised in Denmark, with knowledge of their right and duty in the democratic society. Therefore, during our school period, our children must not experience that they are different but must have peace and quiet to focus on their schooling.
Vejle Private School is a school specializing in teaching multilingual children. At school we use our own method that strengthens our children’s language skills. We therefore have two new subjects called “Practical Danish” and “Practical Mathematics”, as well as offering English from the 0th grade. See more under “VPS Method”.
The school follows the Ministry’s “Common Objectives” and “Final Measures” and the related curricula and teaching at Vejle Private School, aims at teaching in Folkeskolen, but this does not apply to the subjects social subjects (1-7. Kl), music, visual arts, sledding, sports , home expertise due to physical facilities. The purpose of the teaching at Vejle Private School is to promote and support the individual student’s skills in the subjects so that each student gains the maximum benefit from his / her skills in terms of knowledge and skills.
They must have a foundation that helps them to be curious, investigative, critical and reflective to their world. At the same time, emphasis is placed on promoting the student’s sense of responsibility and independence so that students leave school with a continuing desire to learn. Basic respect and recognition of the individual who will have a progressive effect on the integration of pupils in Danish society.
