About the Hope Academy

Walk the footsteps of a space scientist and learn more about the Hope Probe and its mission As you go through the 10-day journey, you will learn of the various challenges of Space and how to fly your Hope Probe to discover Mars. The Hope Academy will start on August 16th and end on the 27th of August.

The Challenge:

1. Go through the fundamentals of space sciences experientially online
2. Answer the challenge questions
3. Rank the highest in the leaderboard.

At the end of the camp, you will be rewarded with your very own Space Certificate endorsed by the UAE Space Agency!

Hope Academy Days

Day 1: Mission to Mars. Why do astronomers choose Mars? How the Emirates Mars Mission makes sure you get your Space.

Day 2: The Soul. Introduction to fundamentals of materials and electric circuits needed to power your satellite.

Day 3: The Energy. Introduction to different forms of energy and how satellites power to operate themselves.

Day 4: Rays of Hope. Different types of sensors of the satellites and how they observe the electromagnetic spectrum to collect data.

Day 5: Imaging. Satellite imagery and an introduction to image sensors and how light is processed to form a composite image from a raw image.

Day 6: Hopemakers. This is where you bring your skills up to shape your own Hope Probe to soar through Space!

Day 7: Race Against Time. The orbital science and mechanics needed to launch your Hope Probe and fly around Mars to collect data.

Day 8: Reaching for the Stars. This is where you ‘Rocket Science’ your way to build your own Hope Probe, aiming for Mars.

Day 9: The Star Chase. Race through the universe to gain priceless knowledge about its wonders.

Day 10: The Grand Challenge. Put your wits and knowledge to the ultimate test to show the world that you have what it takes to be a Space Scientist!
