WICS is an international school established on Christian values. We promise to provide a Bible-based education program which teaches our students to hone universal values that transcend generations and geographical areas. These values will nurture future Christian leaders who love God, their neighbors, and themselves.

WICS has an excellent faculty to provide high quality education that leads students to attend globally recognized universities. We have also arranged educational experts who assist students to study abroad after graduation.

Students will not only learn English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, but also take part in multicultural history programs.

Furthermore, WICS is a school that cooperates with its students and parents. The parents will gain trust in their children's education, and students will have the special experience of growing with the school.

At WICS, we provide an education rooted in biblical values. Our aim is to teach students the true purpose of God’s creation, nurture their spiritual gifts, and instill unchanging truths as they pursue their visions.

Through offering an education in intellect, character, and faith, we seek to nurture Christian leaders of the next generation who are filled with God’s love and justice. We are confident that we can work with students to help them take active roles in today’s international stage.

WICS is located in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo. We aim to cultivate young men and women of this generation by providing our students with courses based on biblical values. They will learn to be contributing members of society where they will identify themselves as Christian, glorify God, and have positive impacts on humanity.

Throughout human history, education has been one of the most important issues in society. In Japan, a high truancy rate, bullying, and collapse of order in classes have become areas of concern. Meanwhile in Korea, a distrust of public education has led to excessive private education, and many students study abroad at an early age. These educational concerns result in serious issues within society, such as difficulty developing character through education, collapse of family structure, and a widening gap between the rich and the poor.

All faculty and staff at WICS encourage students to become global leaders who glorify God, benefiting as many people as possible. At WICS, your child will have the opportunity to develop their vision and make international connections through our global network. With a team of passionate, native English teachers who are experts in their fields, WICS will empower your children to succeed academically, personally, and professionally.

Academic credits will be given when a student passes one year of class work in a particular subject. Generally, number of credits given for a class will align with the number of times the class meets per week. For example, classes that meet two times per week will typically be worth two credits.

WICS follows the grade divisions of a typical American school. Elementary school consists of grades 1-5; middle school, 6-8; and high school, 9-12. Our curriculum is based on American education standards and includes the culture and history of Japan and its neighboring countries. After graduating from high school, all students can pursue higher education in universities in foreign countries. We have arranged English speaking admission advisors from countries such as China, Korea, and Japan.

Our school uses textbooks and supportive teaching materials based on biblical values. We also have a worship service and a Bible class once a week, which helps our students to grow spiritually. To grow socially, students participate in extra-curricular activities catered to their talents and interests.

Core classes -- English, Social Studies, Science, and Math -- are taught in English. WICS runs ESL (English as a Second Language) courses to help students transition into the regular curriculum.

WICS runs ESL (English as a Second Language) courses for students to prepare for the regular curriculum. Students will spend time adapting to classes taught in English and will join the regular curriculum after completing the ESL program and passing their arranged tests. The courses are designed to support students even after they begin taking regular classes; students may selectively take ESL classes as long as they need before fully transitioning to the regular course load. ESL courses will be always open for new students.

ESL classes take place five days per week. Morning classes consist of reading, writing, and speaking; they prompt and empower students to use English in everyday situations. For students who are encountering English for the first time, the ESL program will be managed by teachers who can speak the student’s native tongue.

Students can participate in various co-curricular activities including spelling bees; speech contests; Bible memory verse competitions; academic competitions in math, science, and social studies; drama club; dance team; and band. Students also have free access to ping pong tables during breaks throughout the school day and take golf lessons with a professional instructor twice per month.

WICS provides chapel and Bible study classes once per week to every student. These classes are required for all students, regardless of faith. Through these programs, we hope to instill in our students biblical values, faith, spirituality, and a passion for leading the world to Christ.

During chapel, students will have opportunities to serve and lead. Students who are passionate about serving God and are willing to take on additional responsibility may serve as worship leaders.

Students read the Bible with their teachers in morning devotion groups and apply biblical teachings to their lives. We discuss problems that Christians face in the world and encourage each other to live responsibly.

Our curriculum uses textbooks from a biblical worldview, and all subjects are taught by Christian teachers. We also have a chaplain who can guide students in their spiritual growt!

My child attends Waseda International Christian School in Tokyo and I couldn't be happier with the quality of education they receive. The American curriculum provides a well-rounded education and the teachers are incredibly helpful and supportive. I've seen great progress in my child's academic and personal growth.
