The Year of Giving Scholarship - Trinity College Dublin

Trinity College Dublin is recognized internationally as Ireland’s premier university and as one of the world's leading research-intensive universities. Founded in 1592 on the general pattern as Oxford and Cambridge, it is the oldest university in Ireland and one of the older universities of Western Europe. The United Arab Emirates has earmarked 2017 as “The Year of Giving”; an initiative based on three main pillars - Corporate Social Responsibility, Volunteering and Serving the Nation. To commemorate the UAE 2017 year of giving, Trinity is offering a one of a kind Year of Giving Scholarship to students resident in UAE. The Year of Giving was inspired by the values of hospitality and generosity which lie at the heart of the UAE’s Arab identity and the example of the country’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

To be eligible for this scholarship the student should have been admitted to a foundation or undergraduate program at TCD. Subsequently, the applicant will have to showcase other exceptional works in form of social activism, voluntary works or social engagement making it unique to UAE.

The scholarship is worth EUR 5,000 on a full-time study for any Non-EU student residing in the UAE. This is applied as a discount to the Tuition fees for both Undergraduates doing a full-time program, and for International Foundation programs (excluding Medicine and Dentistry applications).

The assessment for the scholarship will be based on the merit of the applicants and, volunteering, and communal activism. This is one opportunity that is not easy to come by and students of all nationalities are encouraged to apply.
