Trusity, the leading holistic Edtech company drives change and entrepreneurship skills in children by providing avenues and opportunities for them to exhibit their skills and knowledge. In a recent event conducted by the organization, children from across UAE were invited to participate in the Elevator Pitch Competition. The competition was aimed at motivating children to build their research skills, confidence and public speaking abilities. They were encouraged to present their ideas basis facts and researched data, along with an elevator pitch outlining the market gaps, product benefits and cost factors. The audience were amazed at the positivity, drive and quality of speeches that were presented by children aged between 10 years to 15 years.
Ideas that were presented during Trusity’s Elevator Pitch Competition included developing medical apps to detect health problems all the way to building projects aligned with #UnitedNations Sustainability Development Goals. The topics that were raised by the participants reaffirmed the fact that the current generation has a future-ready mindset and all they need is the right guidance and drive to develop their potential. It was amazing to see the passion with which these children presented their dream projects aligned with a cause they all innately believe in. It was overwhelming to hear pitches that included a 10 year old’s idea on saving water to help support East African countries, a 11 year old’s vision to save the planet by harnessing renewable energy, a 15 year old speaking about VR technology for bringing the world together and so on.
The winners of the competition included Anisha Sheriff, Grade 8, GEMS Our Own Indian School and Shrey Baherwani, Year 11, Dubai Scholars Pvt School, tied in the first place. Anisha Sheriff advocated for her project on “Sustainability” aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals with passion and direction. She presented well-researched facts on how building sustainable solutions to real-world problems will positively impact climate and humanity in the future. Shrey Baherwani introduced her project on VR technology named “The Little World” in a mesmerizing manner by adding her experiences and presented it as a short story with a strong impact. She was passionate about how technology can change lives and articulated the facts in a clear and organized manner.
Tied in the second position were Moksh Singh, Grade 6, JSS International School, and Zara Amin, Grade 6, Cambridge International School. Moksh Singh presented on how technology can help save lives through a “Medical App” designed to predict cardiac issues. He kickstarted his presentation with an amazing introduction based on well-researched facts and demonstrated positivity, confidence and enthusiasm. Zara Amin had the audience captivated through her presentation on how her project on “Water Purification” can help save countries that are struggling due to lack of good quality drinking water. Her expressions and body language exuded confidence and helped her connect well with the audience.
