Bro dyfrdwy is an area school. It’s a rural, welsh, county primary school. Our aim is to create a friendly school which encourages every child to learn and develop to the best of his/her ability during his/her time with us. We would like to think of our school as an extended family a friendly and happy family where the child enjoys learning. We try to ensure that the school is a safe and enjoyable place where your child will be appreciated and treated as an individual by encouraging him/her to be a responsible member of the school and the local community and to grow up to be considerate of others and the environment around. We aim to give the best possible education and experiences for our children and we try to improve our learning methos daily.

The school operates in accordance with Denbighshire Education Authority’s admissions policy, which is:- Children are admitted part time in September following their 3 year birthday and full time in September following their 4 year birthday. Any application to admit children to the school will be forwarded to the School Admissions Department in the County Hall. There is not an automatic transfer from Nursery to Reception; therefore the Denbighshire Education Authority will review all applications as they are the admissions authority. Any application should be directed to the county first.

The objective of the school is:

  • Ensure equal curriculum and social opportunities for SEN pupils.
  • Follow Statutory Requirements
  • Act in accordance with the recommendations and policy of the LEA.
  • Ensure that a system exist at the school in the early identification of children with special difficulties which may impair their education
  • Receive information from teachers and other members of staff to ensure better understanding of the child’s difficulties
  • Ensure that the necessary provisions are made for pupils with SEN.
  • Seek parents and others’ cooperation and support in order to identify and deliver services.
  • Try to ensure that the child integrates with other children if possible
