Our aim is to establish a happy environment where everybody strives to give their best where the individual child’s requirements have a central role in every educational process. Based on mutual care and respect between teachers, parents and pupils towards one and other, we encourage pupils to develop positive attitudes, self confidence and a thirst for life long learning.

As a Church School in Wales, Christian values such as kindness, tolerance and forgiveness form an essential part of each pupil’s daily experience. By being ‘Happy in our Learning’ we will succeed. The Governors have a legal obligation for the school’s general management. They are responsible for ensuring that pupils receive a high standard of education through working with the Headteacher and staff to prepare strategies to ensure that pupils achieve their full potential. The purpose of the Governing body is to advise, provide information and support the Headteacher and school staff. The Governors hold a meeting at least once a term. A Governors and Parents Annual General Meeting is held annually in November. If a parent wishes to discuss an issue with the Governing Body, the clerk of governors should be notified in writing.

The purpose of an education system is to create situations and provide resources that will enable every child to develop into a rounded individual, develop and use all his/her talents, which will meet requirements according to age, ability and interest, and equip him/her to become a responsible member of a bilingual community, who will make a contribution to it and be its recipient, and live in peace and harmony with others.

The curricular aims at Ysgol Tregarth indicate that we appreciate that every child needs to develop his/her potential. That every child benefits from the wealth of the Welsh Heritage, and that every child makes a contribution towards a rapidly changing society. Every school is required to prepare and develop a comprehensive scheme that is based on the LEA’s curricular policy. This scheme will contain details on the curriculum and how it is implemented at the school so as to ensure that the education that pupils receive, fully comply with the aims set out in the document.
