Kars is one of the leading Anatolian cities, İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir with its educational facilities. Kafkas University is situated in Kars, a center of education and culture. Kafkas University was established and started its Academic Life on July 11, 1992. Kafkas University moved to Paşaçayırı Campus,which is the main campus of the University in 2011. In a period of 6 years-from 1992 to 1998-new academic units such as Faculty of Education and Science and Letters were established in the framework of contemporary university and Turkey’s education needs.
The Faculties of Dentistry, Education, Medicine, Science and Letters, Theology, Fine Arts, Economics and Administrative Sciences, and Engineering and Architecture, Veterinary Medicine, School of Music and Drama, Physical Education and Sports offer a four-year face to face undergraduate education. Kağızman, Sarıkamış, Atatürk Health Service, Social Sciences and Kars Vocational Schools offer associate degree. Apart from these, there are 3 institutes and 16 research centres in the university.
