Crown American Private School is an American curriculum school founded in 2005 and is welcoming students from kindergarten up to Grade 12.
Our mission at CAPS is to pursue academic excellence through an inquiry –based approach which encourages curiosity and creativity within a caring and inspirational learning environment. The American curriculum emphasizes the education of the whole child and our teaching style focuses on developing the students’ ability to think critically and ask questions. In our KG and Elementary classes, children learn through engaging in practical hands- on activities that cater for the differing learning styles of our learners.
We follow the California State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards NGSS throughout the school, giving our students the benefit of an American curriculum in a deeply rooted Ajman community. In addition, our students follow the in Ministry of Education curriculum for Arabic, Islamic, Moral education and UAE social studies for a greater understanding of the country we all call home.

We emphasize the development of the individual but also encourage students to see themselves as valued and productive members of our school and of the wider community.
Active learning is a key component of our pedagogy at CAPS. Active learning is an approach that involves actively engaging students with the course materials through discussions, problem solving, case studies, role plays and other methods. Active learning allows students to develop their existing knowledge and understanding in order to achieve deeper levels of understanding. This means that learners are more able to analyse, evaluate and synthesise ideas and thus achieve the higher order skills of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Active learning methodology is the preferred way to transform the traditional teacher centered classroom into the newer student centered approach to teaching and learning.
