Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA)

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) is responsible for the growth and quality of private education in Dubai. We support schools, universities, parents, students, educators, investors and government partners to create a high quality education sector focused on happiness and well being. We are a team of 300 people from more than 30 different nationalities. We share a passion for education and a commitment to ensure that each student in Dubai has access to high quality education. We focus on what’s working locally and internationally, and convene educators to share positive practice for the benefit of all schools and universities in Dubai.

The Dubai Schools Inspections Bureau (DSIB) is responsible for setting the quality standards for education services in Dubai. Through regular inspections, it supervises the quality of education for up to 13 different curricula in Dubai. The Dubai School Agency (DSA) of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai was established by virtue of the Executive Council Decree No. 11 of 2007. DSA was established to oversee the development of school-based educational services in the Emirate.

Established as per the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with the objective of increasing the presence and participation of UAE nationals in the key sectors of the economy - especially the private sector. The main mandate of NIVE is to develop a highly skilled, flexible, employable workforce that forms the key to regional and international innovation, productivity and competitiveness. This is done by offering world class programmes designed to cater to the current and future needs of the market in terms of talent.

Tamkeen empowers individuals with visual-impairment through training, support, and counseling. Training programmes offered through Tamkeen are delivered with the objectives of preparing the candidates for job placement by offering programmes in the areas of IT Training, Professional Skills, English Language Training. Further to that, Tamkeen also offers services to corporate when needed in the areas of inclusion.
