Job Summary
- Develop and support the Human Resources strategy in collaboration with the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Admin ensuring key initiatives are aligned to the University’s strategic planned and communicated to the department.
- Provide leadership to the Human Resources department and ensure all direct reports are aware of their deliverables and performance against their objectives.
- Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring that potential candidates are targeted in the most effective process.
- Ensure the implementation of appropriate processes for performance management and employee development to ensure staff are clear on the contribution required from the them are encouraged to develop their capability and contribution and are fairly appraised to allow for appropriate linkages between performance and reward.
- Manage the development and implementation of PSUAD leadership development programs in order to develop current and future leaders.
- Ensure the design and delivery of attraction and retention strategies to maintain top talent and attract Emiratis into employment with PSUAD.
- Supervise the design, implementation and analysis of regular employee satisfaction and engagement survey and manage the implementation of action steps.
- Supervise the development and review of HR polices and procedures.
- Act as focal point of contact with PSUAD management and all division/departmental managers to ensure collaboration in aligning departmental goals to HR support initiatives.
- Maintain own knowledge of Human Resources advances and ensure regular review of all HR initiatives.
- Monitor the department’s financial performance versus the set budget.
- Develop and implement the Human Resources department policies to ensure all relevant procedural requirement are fulfilled.
- Ensure that all departmental reports are prepared timely and accurately.
Required Skills
8 years of Human Resource experience with at least 3 in a management role, preferably in Higher Education.
1 – Leadership Skills.
2 – Management Skills.
3 – Strategic Planning.
4 – Communications Skills.
5 – Knowledge of HR best practice, related policies and procedures and local labour law.
6 – Knowledge of Higher Education sector and academic support staff.
7 – Languages: English and Arabic. French is an added advantage.
Education
1 – Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management of a related subject
2 – Master’s degree in preferred
