Job Summary
You are an experienced manager with hands-on practical experience of running a busy nursery school day to day. You are degree qualified, and although you do not have to be a teacher yourself, you must have significant exposure to managing teachers, ECE programs, class room resources, parents, and interested authorities.
You have a passion for people, especially little ones, but this passion extends to accountability, planning operations, events, managing budgets, hiring, firing, mentoring and taking a proactive approach to all HR issues including visas and labour cards. It goes without saying you can manage payroll, manage admissions, conduct guided tours and present complex information clearly. You are capable of quickly understanding new approaches to play based learning.
Required Skills
You are trustworthy, transparent and honest in your dealings with everyone. You are a leader, you ask people to follow your example not send orders from behind a desk.
You are competent with word, excel, using the internet efficiently, and you are connected to teachers and teaching groups, expats, community leaders and parent groups.
You understand marketing, but you won’t have to manage it. You simply need to manage a CRM system and accurately track, collate and analyse data.
Ideally you are a native English speaker. If not, then you must have professional BUSINESS LEVEL English – there will be a test for that. Arabic is a plus but not compulsory.
Kipina takes the best of what Finland has to offer, and improves it even further with up-to-the-minute teaching practices based on scientific evidence that learning begins at birth. And children learn best through play. But not unguided play. Play that is structured towards learning outcomes to make it easy for kids to transition into K1 and K2. We do not drum the kids into silence, require them to march and sit in rows, wear uniforms, teach them to keep their eyes on the teachers at all times, or require that they are college-and-career-ready from the age of two. They’re kids. There will be plenty of time for that. Our focus is on creating a lifelong love of learning, curiosity, thoughtfulness and confidence – in a loving, clean and safe environment, where every child has a name and is cherished for the joy he or she brings to us.
