Classical Ballet

The Ballet Centre founded by Terry Dean in 1985 is the longest established Dance School in Dubai with premises in Jumeirah and Motor City. All fully equipped with purpose built studios containing wooden sprung floors, ballet barres and wall mirrors. Four highly qualified (RAD/ISTD) full time and two part time Teachers conduct the classes. We offer yearly examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance for Ballet Students and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance for Tap and Modern students. At The Ballet Centre we produce quality productions for our students from the age of 3 years.

The Ballet Centre is committed to making the student experience the very best it can possibly be from young age taking their first dance class to vocational you will be treated as an individual and offered the very best in dance training. The focus of the school is Ballet, Modern and Tap Dance for Children and young adults.

Classical ballet provides the foundation for all other dance forms. It is the most demanding, most disciplined of all dance forms, but also the most rewarding. With a solid ballet foundation, classically trained dancers can transfer their skills into jazz, modern dance, or any other dance form they might decide to pursue. Accomplishing that solid ballet foundation is crucial to becoming an outstanding dancer in any dance form. Ballet students will improve strength, flexibility, grace and overall coordination. Ballet structure is unsurpassed in training dancers, but inevitable by-products of this training are better posture, a more trim body, and increased ease in everyday movements. Exposure to beautiful classical music is a plus.

These are a fun and creative classes for little ballerinas. Preparatory for classical ballet technique, these classes are designed to develop coordination, balance, strength and rhythm. Moving to various music students develop creativity and musicality. We also use props that will capture your child’s imagination. In our Prep classes young dancers also begin to learn the classical positions of the feet and arms in addition to basic ballet steps. We aim to build confidence and inspire a love of dance.

Eight levels of RAD Examinations and Class Awards progressively structured in terms of difficulty. Progressively developing technical, performance and musical skills. Mainly consisting of Classical Ballet we also touch upon free movement and Character styles. A really varied form of dance, Modern incorporates many different styles from lyrical to funky and everything in between. A lot of emphasis is given to stretching and strengthening the body with lots of floor and limbering exercises. Following the ISTD syllabi we offer Modern classes from 5 years.
