ABQ operates 3 CIS (Council of International Schools) and COBIS (Council of British International Schools) accredited international schools, 1 private school and 3 standalone Pre-KG nurseries in the Sultanate of Oman.

The history of ABQ schools started 35 years ago with the esteemed Azzan Bin Qais International School – a pioneer and iconic presence in the Omani private education landscape. Established in 1990, it is truly an embodiment of the transformation and exciting development of Oman as a country and its education system.

Al Omania Education (ABQ Education Group) acquired ABQ Azzan Bin Qais School in 2009 and the school relocated to its exciting campus for the start of the 2022-23 academic year.

ABQ continued its commitment to the education sector by launching ABQ Seeb International School, a state-of-the-art facility, in 2013.

The third leg of the growth strategy was the acquisition of ABQ Sohar International School in 2015 – the largest international school in the Batinah region. Sohar International School moved into a new purpose-built campus in August 2019.

ABQ unveiled ABQ Explorer, their specialised brand for Pre-KG and KG, in January 2022, with the introduction of Pre-KG at ABQ Seeb. In September 2022, ABQ launched two standalone Pre-KG nurseries in Bawshar and Sohar, followed by a third in Muscat Hills in September 2023.

Additionally, ABQ opened its first private school, ABQ Al Imtiaz Private School, in Bawshar in August 2023.
