Step By Step Centre for Special Needs

We are a Special Needs Centre in Doha which provides specialised academic learning and therapeutic intervention plans for children aged 3 to 20 who have special educational needs.

Our aim is to provide a highly specialised approach to meet each child’s individual and specific needs within a social setting. At our centre we provide small group and whole class teaching throughout the day supported by individual and group therapy intervention.

We recognize and value Parents as Partners, therefore we positively encourage their active involvement in their child’s learning and therapy planning. To able to support and equip parents for their active role, we provide training as well as ‘drop in’ sessions for parents.

Our centre also places a lot of emphasis on life and social skills and, consequently, the children are encouraged to engage in various socialization and vocational learning programs and visit the wider community to participate in a range of activities in collaboration with our stakeholders.

STEP BY STEP CENTRE FOR SPECIAL NEEDS was setup in 2011 to provide the highest quality of educational services for children with special needs in Qatar, so that they can reach their full potential and worth.

Since its inception in 2011, SBS has grown to be a trusted place for special needs children, by their parents. We have opened our doors to more than 300 children, who taught us many important lessons of life, brought smile on our face, amazed us, and gave us unconditional love.

We have learnt over time that- challenges are what make life interesting, and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful. Step by step is a place where we see every child as an individual. We celebrate differences.

The past few years have been an amazing journey, where we not only motivated, inspired, and gave but also learnt precious lessons, most importantly succeeded and celebrated the success of our lovely children.

Our team provide individualized programs for students experiencing various sensory, communications, behaviour and/or learning challenges. Our experienced specialists are truly committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our students and ensuring they reach their full potential. Our dedicated teachers coordinate purposeful and engaging learning activities tailored to meet each student’s needs.

We firmly believe in using positive reinforcement when teaching students the expected behaviours to encourage prosocial behaviours, rather than reacting negatively after an inappropriate behaviour is displayed. We also strongly believe that parent partnership and involvement is an essential part of our programs. Parents are encouraged to actively engage and participate in developing their child’s individual educational program. They also have opportunities to receive training through individual therapy sessions.
