Assistant Professor - Histopathologist

Job Summary

The Department of Pathology, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University, seeks a full time faculty member with board certification in Anatomical Pathology or Anatomical/Clinical Pathology. The candidate should have a strong interest in research, maintaining scholarly activities and participating in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. A track record of publications demonstrating clinical and scientific accomplishments is mandatory. The academic rank, tenure and salary will be based upon level of qualifications, experience and scholarly accomplishments.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will engage in teaching pathology to undergraduate preclinical medical students, PhD candidates enrolled in the College, and medical residents preparing for postgraduate certification in various medical disciplines. There will be a requirement to take part in clinical service at CMHS affiliated hospitals.

Histopathology service responsibilities include grossing and reporting surgical and cytological specimens, participation at intradepartmental consultation meetings and hospital tumor boards. Candidates for this position must hold an MD or MBBS and demonstrate evidence of advanced training in Pathology with certification/fellowship (or equivalent), from accredited centers in North America, Australia, Europe or South Africa. Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience is also required.
