Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
Chemical engineering is a complex field that deals with the operation of refineries, petrochemical and pharmaceutical plants to food and materials facilities, the design and invention of new composite materials and polymers, and making chemical processes more efficient, cost effective, and environmentally friendly.
Chemical Engineers conceive and design processes beginning with experimentation in the laboratory followed by implementation of the technology in full-scale production. It is shaped by the ongoing needs of industry including developments in chemistry, physics and biology.
This program has been designed to provide a balanced education in design, analysis and hands-on experience. The challenging four-year curriculum integrates courses in mathematics, chemistry, physics and chemical engineering.
You will be given the opportunity to integrate your chemical engineering knowledge by designing a plant and master industry specific software for process simulation and design.
According to Forbes, chemical engineering was the highest paying job in 2016. Graduate Chemical Engineers are in high demand throughout the world with roles including operation of plants, troubleshooting manufacturing processes, designing plant layouts, evaluation of equipment and processes, and research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes.
Our students have taken up internships in a wide range of companies including Abu Dhabi Ports, ADCO, ADGAS, Al Masaood Oil & Gas, Arab Geotech Laboratories, Bureau Veritas, Gulf Laboratory, Masdar Institute, Schlumberger, Union Chemicals Factory, Worley Parsons and others.
