The child is taught in English by qualified Montessori teachers. Levels 2 and 3 children attend Arabic sessions. All classrooms have one teacher and one or two assistants. Child develops by absorbing everything around them. He is taught in a way that does not pressure him into learning, yet encourages the maximum response. Thus, learning should occur naturally, at the proper pace of the child. The child chooses from a wide range of self-educating activities to assist this process.

In Kuwait Montessori Nursery, we focus on six core areas of learning: practical life, sensorial, Language Arts, mathematical, cultural studies, extra activities. Child is innately preparing to be adults. Our goal is to raise children with strong foundation skills and work habits that one day will enable them to be responsible for their own homes, families and communities. The practical life four categories are: Preliminary activities, care of self, care of the environment, social graces and courtesies.

By practicing the above, the child improves his/her eye-hand coordination, concentration and independency, develops his motor skills as well as his hand and wrist. The purpose of Sensorial materials is to refine and develop the child’s five senses. It also expends the ability to understand the difference in dimensions and weights. It also improves the coordination of movements and concentration.

In both English and Arabic, we develop the child’s language orally through group discussions, stories, and songs. The language is then further developed and reinforced by working with the Montessori materials of all subjects. When the child is ready, we teach him/her the alphabet phonetically, and then word building and finally reading. In Math, child always starts with concrete activities and gradually moves to abstract. The child first learns to count, then moves to recognizing numbers and quantities. The child also becomes familiar with the sorting, matching and pairing and sequencing activities.

History, Geography and Science are brought together under the heading “the cultural subjects”. In Science, The child learns about the different animals, plants, fruits and vegetables. He also learns simple concepts through different experiments such as the use of magnets, experimenting with sinking and floating objects. In Geography, The child also learns about the world around him. He/she is exposed to different topics such as the globe, earth and the continents. In History, the child learns about seasons, the months of the year, the days of the week and the concept of time etc.

This part of program develops the child’s creative skill and imagination by coloring and graphic recognition. The child uses different materials for painting, coloring and innovating crafts that develop motor skills. All our teachers are Montessori qualified and they are specially trained to become expert observers of children so they understand the developmental needs of their students.

The Montessori classrooms are prepared environment and are organized around the needs of the children. The classroom is a child-sized world, with chairs, tables and shelves in appropriate proportion. They are divided into separate areas, all of which interrelate. These areas are: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, and Culture, which includes science, biology, and geography.

Our classes contain specially designed, manipulative "materials for development" that invite children to engage in learning activities of their own individual choice under the guidance of a trained teacher. These materials have multiple teaching aims and are designed in such a way that they can be worked with on an individual basis. They have the freedom to make their own choices of what to work with and when, creating a sense of independence and self-confidence within their personality. In Kuwait Montessori Nursery, children attend music class on a daily basis where they get introduced to music instruments such as bells, shakers, tambourine and triangle.
