The Student Activities Coordinator is charged with creating and supporting community building programs, events, and activities that will promote the development of a vital and engaging campus life in Education City. The Student Activities Coordinator will work closely with counterparts in the branch campuses and educational centres to create opportunities for students from all these institutions to integrate with and benefit from the rich and varied set of organizations in Education City.

Key Result Areas

  • Organize programs and events for students in Education City, including the pre-university centres (ABP) and the postsecondary institutions
  • Work closely with counterparts in other Education City institutions to develop and coordinate efforts for new programs, events, and activities for students
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Education City new student orientation program each fall semester, utilizing student volunteers
  • Coordinate the LeaderShape® program for Education City and serve as the primary contact between LeaderShape® and each branch campus
  • Implement a student leadership development program for pre-university (ABP) centers and the postsecondary institutions
  • In collaboration with the Education City branch campus counterparts, develop a student-led awards recognition program for students of Education City.
  • Advise the 10 member Education City programming board and related programming efforts
  • Develop and implement a speaker series for Education City, utilizing a student board
  • Oversee Student Activities Officers

Skills

  • Minimum of three years experience in a university setting, preferably in program planning and management of student affairs organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with student, faculty, and staff in a diverse environment
