Master of Applied Statistics
Risk prediction. Weather forecasts. Market research. Finance. Population growth. Emergency preparedness. Political campaigns. Insurance. Astronomy. Statistics plays a vital role in these endeavours and many more like them. As the world becomes increasingly dependent on analysing and interpreting data, the demand for highly trained statisticians continues to grow. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to advance your career in this increasingly important field.
Students who wish to work as statisticians or students who are already working in other roles which require a deeper knowledge of statistics.
Part of what makes Macquarie future focused is that we allow you the freedom to explore your interests across a range of areas, rather than lock you in to a single, narrow field. So follow your passions and tailor your course to your needs and interests.
Units are what we call subjects. Most full-time students take four units – each worth a fixed number of credit points – per session.
Most postgraduate courses require a successfully completed Australian bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution and may also require a specific grade point average (GPA). Our admissions team will determine whether your qualification meets the requirements.
