Master of Cyber Security with the degree of Master of Counter Terrorism
Cyber criminals and cyber terrorists pose a risk to everyone and every organisation. Cyber security is always in the spotlight, whether it's a story about data breaches or election hacking. Unfortunately, cybercrime isn't just limited to these areas. For example, technology has increased our vulnerability to terrorist attacks. Governments and businesses have an urgent need for staff with a broad range of skills and experience to tackle cybercrime as well as the knowledge, skills and creativity to understand the dynamic and complex systems that terrorists are leveraging.
We bring together perspectives in risk, IT, finance, law, governance, psychology, policing and security, providing you with a multidisciplinary skill set that will enable you to lead more effective responses to both cyber security and terrorism challenges.
Part of what makes Macquarie future focused is that we allow you the freedom to explore your interests across a range of areas, rather than lock you in to a single, narrow field. So follow your passions and tailor your course to your needs and interests.
Units are what we call subjects. Most full-time students take four units – each worth a fixed number of credit points – per session.
Most postgraduate courses require a successfully completed Australian bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution and may also require a specific grade point average (GPA). Our admissions team will determine whether your qualification meets the requirements.
