Master of Early Childhood

A child's early years are key to predicting their success in school and life. Their early learning experiences are critical determining factors for their emotional, social and intellectual development. When they are exposed to high-quality early educational opportunities, their trajectory for success is greatly enhanced. This course provides you with an opportunity to undertake advanced study in early childhood, to enhance your professional understanding by extending your knowledge of related areas in early childhood. You'll learn about current research and engage critically in theoretical and policy debates of importance to those working with young children and their families.

Suitable for

Those keen to continue early childhood studies at an advanced level. Those who have a three year Early Childhood teaching degree can use this course to obtain a fourth year qualification. Please note This degree does NOT provide a teaching qualification in early childhood. The Graduate Certificate of Early Childhood can be used as a starting point for postgraduate studies. With academic advice in selecting the units of study, you may be eligible to move into this Masters degree.

Units

Units are what we call subjects. Most full-time students take four units – each worth a fixed number of credit points – per session.

Entry Requirements

Most postgraduate courses require a successfully completed Australian bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution and may also require a specific grade point average (GPA). Our admissions team will determine whether your qualification meets the requirements.
