Occupational Health & Safety

This course is specially designed to offer an overview into occupational health and safety practices that can be applied to any business environment. Occupational health and safety (OH&S) involves identifying, assessing and managing risks in work environments. The participants of this course may come from any industry ranging from construction, manufacturing and health care and are looking to learn how they can support and promote healthier workplaces. Employers are now required to identify, evaluate and communicate information about workplace and environment conditions that may have negative effects on workers’ health, productivity and the environment and they need health and safety practitioners, supervisors, managers, and leaders who are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to plan and implement strategies intended to control and manage potential workplace hazards.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the delegates will be able to:

• Acquire knowledge on occupational health and safety management in the workplace
• Implement the hazards and control in the workplace such as the movement of the people, vehicles, working equipment, fire hazards, chemical and biological health hazards and control, physical and psychological health hazards and control and other construction activities
• Carryout a practical application of the legislative health and safety procedure

Control of International Workplace Hazards (cont’d)

International Health and Safety Practical Application

• The completion of a health & safety assessment of a work place and report to management
