This is an advanced course reviewing state-of-the-art topics in well test interpretation and wireline formation testing.  In the case of well testing the main issues which will be covered relate to fractured and layered reservoirs.  It will be demonstrated that dual porosity behavior is never seen in carbonate reservoirs and the actual form of derivative diagnostics conform to different models of the system where linear and radial composite flow occur.  In the case of layered reservoirs the importance of production logging is emphasised and the integration of petrophysical and core analysis data is emphasised.  Finally the question of reserve estimation from well testing is covered in detail.
