The Emergency First Response Course builds on the Instructor candidates skills as primary and secondary care providers and focuses on developing their instructional abilities.
Objectives
- Assure that instructor candidates understand the Emergency First Response program structure, requirements and procedures.
- Familiarize instructor candidates with the Emergency First Response program philosophy and prepare them to teach courses that are low-stress, performance-based and learner-centered.
- Refine instructor candidates primary care and Care for children skills to role-model level.
- Provide instructor candidates with practical suggestions for organizing and marketing their Emergency First Response courses.
- Encourage instructor candidates to be active Emergency First Response Instructors and to use their skills to train others in the communitv
Pre-requisites
To enroll in an Emergency First Response Instructor Course, an inpidual must:
- Have completed a sanctioned course in adult/infant ( PR within the past 24 months.
- Have completed a sanctioned course in basic first aid within the past 24 months.
- 18 years of age.
Note
To maintain the Emergency First Response Instructor rating, inpiduals must renew their rating every two years by submitting a renewal application to Emergency First Response. By renewing, instructors agree to slay up-to-date ith Emergency First Response course standards and implement any changes announced in The Responder.
