Founded in 1993, the College of Professional Psychology COPP (formerly known as the College of Psychological Practice), aims to make a positive contribution to the mental wellbeing of our wider community through expanding the capabilities and practical experience of psychologists and related mental health practitioners. Seeking to 'meet the need and make a difference' and guided by a not-for-profit philosophy, COPP aims to deliver programs that are relevant, practical, skills-oriented and provide value for money.

COPP has made a significant contribution in supporting psychology graduates to achieve their goal of becoming fully registered psychologists. Providing personalized attention and support, developing relevant practical skills through flexible learning and with reasonable fees, COPP is committed to continuing to provide an alternative pathway to full registration through an internship program which meets the requirements of the Psychology Board of Australia.

The College of Professional Psychology was established in 1993. For over 20 years, we have been providing comprehensive programs that bridge the gap between tertiary studies and a career as a registered psychologist. We achieve this by providing the most comprehensive psychology registration internship programs in Australia. We deliver a curriculum that is innovative and current whilst meeting Board approval. Our accredited supervisors, workshop leaders and college staff provide unparalleled personalised attention and support to help interns achieve their career goals. Our programs are relevant, practical and skills oriented ensuring graduates are fully prepared for general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Building on their academic achievements, our interns develop a broad range of practical and professional skills that are readily applicable to a variety of employment settings. We take pride in seeing our graduates go on to enjoy successful careers in a wide range of professional settings including private practice, rehabilitation and community mental health. Our team of dedicated professionals share the common goal to provide our interns with the very best preparation for general registration with PsyBA and their career as a psychologist.

Our staff and supervisors have expert knowledge of the core competencies and attributes required for registration. We have a genuine belief that, by expanding the competencies and practical experience of psychologists, we make a positive contribution to the mental wellbeing of the wider community. We provide personalised attention and support to each of our interns ensuring that their transition to a career in psychology is a smooth one. In addition to their individual supervisors, interns are encouraged to seek confidential support and advice from any member of our team.

I loved doing my 4 + 2 through COPP. They provided an excellent service, with fantastic professional development, cost-effective in terms of what you would pay on your own and wonderful support throughout the process. Well done COPP!
