Uniting Institute of Education (formerly UnitingCare Institute of Family Practice) was created in July 2007 by combining the highly regarded and respected training arms, UnitingCare Unifam Training and Education and UnitingCare Burnside Training Program.
Since 1997, UnitingCare Unifam Training and Education, a registered training organisation, delivered nationally accredited qualifications in counselling, family therapy and mediation.
UnitingCare Burnside Training Program delivered highly regarded and cutting edge professional development to the community services sector.
Together they combined to form a strong and comprehensive training and education institute, at the forefront of workforce development in the community services sector.
Our ongoing close association with Uniting Burnside and Uniting Unifam Counselling and Mediation makes Uniting Institute of Education unique. We are part of a network of service delivery organisations which deliver the programs that our graduates will be working in.
This close association feeds directly into the content of the training and qualifications provided by Uniting Institute of Education. As a result, our training is at the forefront of current practice and is delivered by experts in their field.
In early 2010, Uniting Institute of Education was recognised by Government as an Industry Skills Centre, resulting in funding to assist with the establishment of our new and current premises in Marsden Street, Parramatta.
In June 2011, Uniting Institute of Education became an approved VET FEE-HELP provider. VET FEE-HELP is a government student loan scheme and allows eligible students to undertake their studies without paying any upfront fees, overcoming any potential financial barriers.
All these factors combine to make Uniting Institute of Education a leading Registered Training Organisation, delivering highly respected qualifications and training courses to develop people to work with people.
At Uniting, we believe in taking real steps to make the world a better place. We work to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice.
Our services are in the areas of aged care and disability, community services, and chaplaincy and we get involved in social justice and advocacy issues that impact the people we serve.
As an organisation we celebrate our diversity and welcome all people regardless of lifestyle choices, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation and gender identity.

I worked here as care staff in one of the facilities in the hunter region and i can honestly say i am extremely proud to work for an organisation that provides excetional love, support and encouragement to both staff and residents. I am new to the nursing industry and i couldnt have found a better place to choose to let myself grow as a person. We focus heavily on 'seeing the person not the task'. family members could not feel more relieved and safe and welcome when their loved ones come into our care.

I joined here on the 20th of July 2016 as a Local Area Coordinator, a direct role for the NDIS. I'm very grateful that on my last week of Uni back in May I received a phone call I was successful for the position. Graduating next month and I am very humbled and honoured to be part of such a great organisation. Great people, strong values, and a place that has a vision to serve humanity and foresee change for everyone.

I am very grateful for the friendly and welcoming attitude of all the people that I have met at Uniting in my first week. I am also immensely impressed with the breadth of work that is being done to help support so many people in our communities. Also, witnessing the enjoyment of people using the seniors gyms and looking so sprightly and happy as they exercise. Magic!
