We’ve been challenging traditions for more than 160 years We make lives better by producing leaders of society and equipping our people with leadership qualities so they can serve our communities at every level. Since our inception, we have believed in education for all and leadership that makes lives better. The same values continue to inform our policy of inclusion and underpin our long-term strategy for growth. Our strategy is simple: to create a place where the best researchers and most promising students can achieve their full potential.
No matter what course you’re studying, what faculty you work for, or how you’re involved with the University, our strategy is relevant to you. The University's strategic plan is more than a high-level document for our governing bodies and senior management. It is the roadmap to achieving our shared vision. Our vision is unashamedly aspirational, aiming to position the University of Sydney as the best university in Australia and a leading institution globally. We get behind a range of activities to ensure everyone is accepted and has equal opportunities when it comes to education and employment in our university.
Being inclusive is embedded in our culture, but we know it has no meaning unless we do as we say. That’s why we run programs and initiatives that demonstrate how we live our values. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to enter higher education, for instance, so we visit primary and high schools across NSW to make sure students from underrepresented groups know why going to university is important and what pathways are available to them.
We believe racism in any form is abhorrent and must be countered, so we’ve partnered with the Australian Human Rights Commission's campaign Racism. It Stops with Me. And we believe in the equal rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) students and staff so we have set up an ALLY network. The role of an ally is to be aware of the challenges faced by LGBTIQ people and, to make a difference in whatever way they feel comfortable. This can include being a point of contact for students, participating in training or standing against inequality or exclusion when they see it. We stand firm in our commitment to advancing gender equity, promoting women in leadership and furthering women’s education.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
It is one of the Australia's leading higher education and research university with excellent mentors and quality of students. A genuine place to give your career a great success.

The arts department is just horrible, they set incredibly vague assessment tasks and then give you equally vague feadback when you try to answer the incomprehensible questions they set. The administration is also pretty bad, they can be really slow to respond to emails.

Teaching staff are fantastic, but the student administrative services are abysmal. I've had to visit the student centre for a variety of reasons-- and I leave every time with the distinct impression that the university cares about its money more than its students.
Please do yourself a favour and enrol at a university that doesn't treat you like a cash cow.

This uni has the best campus in australia. it may be old but it serves right. Location is great too and so are the facilities. Prices are rightly set for students. But the staff is incompetent.

Such an amazing campus, huge and full of activities!! Highly recommended if you are thinking about studying in Sydney!

Very unorganized university , overpriced and slow! There is immense discrimination towards international students, we pay the price with no benefits associated with it! do not recommend attending here, save yourself!!

Beyond incompetent. I have had no positive experiences dealing with the university, everything is bureaucratic and needlessly difficult. Even finding simple information is impossible, and it's clear they function purely for monetary gain. Attending this university is like banging your head against a brick wall for several years.

Probably Australia's best (or in top 3) university and campus. Very high standard of instruction and strong calibre of student. Interesting and eclectic architecture, with the Quadrangle and its purple-bloomed trees a particular highlight

They run this uni like a business, in that they give prejudice to international students because they have to pay up front and the uni doesn't care about giving students the best chance to succeed rather how they can make as much money as possible.
Not only that, the staff are incredibly unhelpful, it's easier to fail you than take the time to help and so they'll pass the buck to other departments or say check the website. Once you've paid good luck getting what you paid for..

At the University of Sydney, my son has blossomed academically and personally, thanks to the dedicated faculty who truly care about each student’s success.
