CECOS University is a private institution comprising of 3 campuses, spread over 90 kanals of land, and offers coeducation in disciplines including, but not limited to, Computer Science, Business Management, Architecture, Electrical and Civil engineering.

Founded in 1986 by Engr. Muhammad Tanveer as a small private sector institution, known as CECOS Data institute with only 5 computers and very few students, the university has always worked on the principles to help students be adept with Science and Technology. Today, the institute has offered continuous support to more than 18000 students in career development, especially in the fields of Computer Science, Business Management, and Information Technology. CECOS University is efficiently pursuing the principles of academic excellence, teaching, research and discovery, and is endeavouring in educating and grooming graduates predominately in the disciplines of engineering, architecture, management, computer and allied sciences, making them capable of taking the future responsibilities and meeting the regional and global challenges faced by the society with strength of leadership, courage and passion.

“CECOS Industrial Liaison Centre” (CILC) is established in Industrial Estate, Peshawar by setting up necessary Engineering Workshops and Laboratories in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and Micro Processing /Communication which are essential to achieve the professional goals of University – Industry Linkage programmes. It is strengthening the long-term relationship between Industries, firms, and Academia. Moreover, CECOS London College, the training department of CECOS Computing International Ltd. UK (1998), has successfully sustained to offer admission to the international Students.

The institute has achieved many milestones over the years. It has been selected for establishing a CISCO Networking Academy, the only one in KPK, by Federal Ministry of Science & Technology (MoST). Furthermore, the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, based upon their assessment rated CECOS University as W3 /W*** Category University (upgraded from W category to W3 Category, against the highest W4/W**** category). It has also signed MoUs with many international universities for academic collaboration.

CECOS University also has its own Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) which keeps a check on the improvement of academic, teaching and learning standards. The role of QEC is to monitor the quality of education through a well-structured feedback mechanism which involves obtaining feedback from students, alumni, employers and faculty,

The institute is working on adopting a personalized approach with close relationship between the faculty and the students, emphasizing on student-centered learning, improving the capacity of its faculty, developing education programs, integrating theory and practice for better results. It is also encouraging creativity, learning, and individual enterprise. The institute is also promoting international perspectives in the curriculum, among students and faculty.

Good university but kindly take care of your students because they are eating un healthy open foods in sherhah market plots which is very bacterial no clean lines in it . I hope someone will take notice on that... Make a good healthy canteen for them.. Thanks

Been here today along with Dr. Abdus Samei as he will be delivering a lecture on Islam and Secularism. Nice place but approaching roads are too bad and dusty. Direction boards are also not much supportive
