During the year 2017, the University has sustained growth in almost every quality parameter. Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif along with top hierarchy of the government inaugurated the first and largest ever girls hostel at the varsity whereas 1st phase of the HEC funded hostel would also be available in the days to come.
This year, our dedicated faculty has earned largest number (11/32) of research projects among all the 185 public universities of the country under HEC Technology Development Fund and clinched 1st position in the country followed by Quad–e-Azam University, COMSATS, University of Punjab and Karachi University by winning 31 Research Productivity Awards under Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of Pakistan.
There were more than 500 foreign visitors in the year and about as many outreach engagements and service events to the government departments. The international visitors have continued to add value to our intellectual landscape. We continued to promote experiential learning opportunities for the entire campus community.
The university has sustained growth in the student enrollment, faculty hiring and logistics. The USAID funded center for advanced studies has achieved its goals in research and training in collaboration with the University of California, Davis and the Washington State University, Pullman. Several new project agreements have been signed including the construction of a model Confucius Institute, a Chinese Research Base of Xinjiang Agricultural University and the Punjab Dengue Vector Research Laboratory.
UAF has improved its NTU Rankings in agricultural sciences at 12th position (from 20th) in the Asia Pacific region and at 72nd position (from 85th) in the world. We remain first and the only Pakistani university in top 100 world universities in any ranking system as ranked QS 85th in agricultural sciences. The US News Ranking has placed UAF at 94th position in the subject category. According to the UI Green Metric World Ranking-2016, our position has improved from 34th to 9th in education category among 516 entries.
As a public university, UAF prepares the next generation of workers, managers and leaders through its academic programs in agricultural and allied sciences. It generates new knowledge through innovative research and transfers research-based information to the people to ensure a sustainable and abundant agriculture, livestock, forestry and fisheries within a healthy environment. The Flagship University of the Province of Punjab stands second amongst all public and private institutions of higher education in the Pakistan according to HEC Ranking 2012 and 98 and 139 in the world (20 and 25 in Asia) in agricultural sciences on the basis of current NTU and QS rankings, respectively. UAF translates the latest research into practical applications (goods and services) that ensure food security, improve people's lives and drive the economy of Pakistan. UAF creates and disseminates knowledge and skills to thrive in the fast-changing, multicultural environment of the 21st century. Thus, UAF emerges as a leader of the change process towards a prosperous and resilient nation of Pakistan.
For a knowledge-based economy, the university becomes a key element of innovation systems both as a creator of new knowledge and ideas based on research, and as a provider of human capital. The purpose of the Vision 2030 Strategic Framework is to articulate an action plan that defines a path to elevate UAF's position as one of the internationally recognized research universities and a gateway to knowledge for agricultural and rural development in Pakistan. It provides the overarching themes for more detailed plans that will be based on imperatives current for the time and that will shape strategic thinking during the respective planning cycles in the future years. Likewise, for UAF to emerge and stay among the top 100 universities of the world in agricultural sciences by 2030 will require innovative renewal in its approach to core and support functions to build up its strengths, exploit its competitive advantages and focus on those dimensions that will provide us with the distinctive edge that sets us apart from others.

University of agriculture has many departments of education. Students are helpful and staff welcome to all. It has no security issue. Place is secure to visit. And its professors are highly qualified. University has best cleaning system. Their parking system is also good. And university covers large area. If you come here please visit university.

According to Times higher education 2019, University of Agriculture is top 2nd ranked university of Pakistan and took well reputed position in world. They promised to their pupils to provide quality education and best suitable examples. I did my graduation from there. During my session, i observe that teachers are responsible and serious with there teaching style in amiable environment. If you want to study any accessible field than you should have to study on there instead computer sciences. I've heard from my friends, computer science is not better in #UAF.
