Bath Spa University is where creative minds meet. We teach and research across art, sciences, education, social science, and business. The University employs outstanding creative professionals who support its aim to be a leading educational institution in creativity, culture and enterprise. Bath Spa University is a TEF participating institution and has been awarded with Silver. What is the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)? What does it mean for students?

TEF was introduced by the Government to recognise and reward excellent learning and teaching. Its purpose is to help better inform students’ choices about what and where to study. Our vision is to be a leading university in creativity, culture and enterprise. Through inspirational teaching and research, we transform students’ lives. Based in a World Heritage city and connected to a network of international partners, Bath Spa University will ensure that its graduates are socially engaged global citizens.

We want the best for our students. we want you to graduate with an understanding of the local, regional and global context, and with networks across all three. You should have a broad understanding of the world in which you will be working, and be ready to face the challenges of the workplace. You must be technologically adroit while understanding those who are not. You need to develop sharp analytic skills with cutting edge creativity and entrepreneurial flair. We want you to be proud of your association with Bath Spa University.

We promise to treat you as individuals, not just as numbers. we will provide the support you need to grow and develop, both intellectually and as citizens. We know that you value the experience you receive as Bath Spa students, and we will not compromise on that. Our caring ethos stretches to our environment too. We embrace a strong environmental ethos, and through their actions and commitment students and staff help us achieve very high environmental credentials.

In 1852 the Bath School of Art was established after the Great Exhibition, and there begins our long and prestigious history. The School enjoyed a reputation as one of the leading art schools in the country, and some of Britain’s best known artists, including Walter Sickert and Howard Hodgkin, studied and taught at what was to become the Bath School of Art and Design.

In the immediate post war era it was acknowledged as a leading British Art school, involved in the flowering of the English Modernist movement. The School’s post-war residence, Corsham Court, has now become the home of those postgraduate activities appropriate for this space. This reputation for excellence endures today – graduates of the Bath School of Art and Design are sought after for their high standards of creative exploration and practice.

The vibrant educational atmosphere at Somerset has not only ignited my child's passion for learning but also showcased the unwavering support from the dedicated staff—true partners in their success!

Daughter just graduated after 4 years BA in Music. So proud of my daughter. But the utter dedication and student welfare here from the Lecturers/Student Welfare were paramount in her success. Would recommend. Not only a beautiful setting but knowing your child is being looked after is so reassuring. They may be young adults but probably their 1st time living away from home. Distractions occur. I found the patience and guidance offered to our daughter first class. Thankful parent.

Visited Bath University yesterday with my daughter. We both absolutely loved it. The day was well organised and the staff and students were helpful and informative. A beautiful setting to learn and to live.

Came here for the open day with my nephew. The facilities are amazing and the setting of the university is breathtaking. The staff are brilliant . We were so impressed with this place it's moved to number one choice for a place at uni.

The worst uni. There is so much favoritism. Neuropsychology lecturers will say one thing an do another. They will first say your work is fine, then fail you. I would do recommend this university at all. It is over rated and I would advise those not to make the mistake I made
