I have had the most amazing time in the Access course this year, with fantastic support from teachers and students ..

Would have given a minus number if i could but 1 was as low as it would go. Just finished year 2 of a 3 year course to be told that they are no longer doing year 3 so I have to find another provider in order to get qualified. Absolutely disgusting especially as I have been repeatedly asking the course coordinator for information. Email sent on a Friday afternoon so we can't get in touch with them.

Was a student here for four years. Managed to successfully complete an Access Course this year, with a place at University achieved. Throughout my time as a student here, the support could have been better. Communication at times was a struggle, but I did like some of the opportunities that I experienced through being a student. These included volunteering, being part of a national business finals and travelling off site to Bristol Zoo. I liked the library resources, sometimes the College Moodle wouldn't load well on my mobile devices. The Internet at times was also a little dodgy. Easy to get to by bus or train.

I have been at the college for at least seven months and I have to say it is an amazing place to learn. I am currently studying VAP Construction. The teachers are good (although their humour could be hit or miss) and get along well with the students. Not only are the teachers friendly but so are the other students. They have a welcoming and friendly personality and are even helpful. They also have a great understanding for people with problems like anxiety or Asperger's and will do 1-2-1 with the students to help them understand or help them achieve targets in their lessons.

The media makeup and hair course? The worst course I had ever been on. I went to the first course they made and regret it. The hair teacher recommended a book when I was struggling and was only asking for a demonstration or some one to one to improve and continued to make me feel distressed and the attitude on the makeup teacher/ tutor was horrendous. Imagine bringing clients in and making them feel unwelcomed because there was no-where for them to sit? Imagine using products on them that were out of date?? Disgusting. Imagine keeping a student behind when they had work to go to (and even said they had to go) and then arguing with their boss over the phone and taking it out on that student in a one to one despite none of it being their fault? An utter joke. I'm glad I quit. It damaged my mental health badly and took me years to recover my confidence. The only staff that were ever remotely helpful and kind to me were the learning support staff and I would give them 5 stars compared to the course. I took up my complaint to the head of the department. I didn't hear anything back.

i was enrolled on the traineeship last year and had many issues with keeping myself in lessons but with many thank you and loads of support from Ivanna Harvey on somer valley campus i got my self on track to get my work done and kept fighting through even when my mental health was at its worst!! i am back this year and am studying childcare level 3 part time and again i cant fault the college they are amazing and i am just soo glad that there is a support network at college that can be used if you need it!! i had a panic attack at college back last year and this week and it was nice for my tutor to understand that i just needed to take time out to calm down and to go see someone about it. i can honestly rate the college amazing now but the year i left school it was a shambles but my view has completely changed now soo thank you each and everyone of you :)

Poorest communication in applying for a course, no one returns you calls ,no one contacts you back even though they say someone will be in contact. Not sure how they can teach if they can’t communicate..
