Leeds City College operates out of four main campuses – Keighley, Park Lane, Technology and Printworks – as well as having provisions in smaller community centres across the region.
In September 2010, Keighley College opened its doors to its first ever intake of students after two and a half years under construction.
Three years later in 2013, Leeds City College’s brand new Printworks Campus opened on Hunslet Road on the site of the former Alf Cooke Printworks, one of the most recognisable industrial landmarks in Leeds.
The College continues to strive towards offering its students enhanced learning environments.
Leeds City College became a legal entity on 1 April 2009 when the corporations of Leeds Thomas Danby College, Leeds College of Technology and Park Lane College Leeds and Keighley simultaneously dissolved and the new Leeds City College corporation was created. Joseph Priestley College subsequently merged with Leeds City College on 1 August 2011.
The Leeds City College corporation (referred to as the Group Board or the Board of Governors) is an independent Further Education (FE) corporation, established under the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (the Act). The corporation is administered under Instrument and Articles of Government which are statutory instruments made under the Act which set out the rules for the constitution and operation of the corporation and the machinery for college decision-making.

I enjoyed my time there and had some great times in GCSE English and FS English. It is difficult for a college though when there are just so many students to cover and not enough tutors to go round. A class having 7 different tutors in one academic year equals a problem.
By Rob Johnson (Mar, 2018) |
Well where do I start? Firstly the tutors are ignorant and very rude, if one wants to complain, don`t bother there complaints department is a little side office, a place which the tutors are very "pally" with each other! So rest assured a complaint would only result in you being targeted and bullied! Also the Business management and leadership top up "Degree" Is resided over by a woman who has the students working on the "Left brain right brain" MYTH as though a factual course of study! The problem is not so much with the simple-minded Pseudo-science like the "Left brain right brain" Myth, rather its the disgusting incompetent manner in which this tuition fee theft "Establishment" is run! So glad I left and went to a proper university before they stole all my money!

The Extended Diploma in Fine Art and Design course was one of the best courses I have studied on, the tutors (Kevin, Kirsty and Sarah) were perfect and made the course exciting and memorable. The course explored a range of different skills and media's with live and closed briefs. It prepares you for a job in the niche you choose or your chosen university course. If I could do it all over again I would, you really feel yourself grow and progress and all the staff are helpful and have an interest in your future, they're behind you 1000 percent. A really great atmosphere and worth the money (if paying). A bonus if continuing on from school like I did.
