Moulton is widely recognised as one of the top colleges in the country. And, as a Beacon of Excellence, you don’t just have to take our word for it.

We’ve worked hard to build this reputation and now offer a wide range of qualifications – from post-16 to postgraduate and professional development – all within a beautiful rural environment that incorporates excellent facilities.

It’s this combination that makes us unique and, when coupled with our commitment to innovation in teaching, learning and assessment, and focus on student support, it means everyone who joins us is soon on course to succeed.

This commitment to being the best is ongoing and we have invested over £45 million in recent years to provide world-class facilities in which you can learn and grow. With leisure, social and sporting facilities to match, everything is in place for you to join us and have the time of your life.

Here at Moulton College we simply want you to go further and aim higher.

While that may sound simple, in reality it requires a lot of things to make it happen, but we’ve got them ... and more.

The first thing that makes us special is our range of brilliant, practical courses that place emphasis on developing the skills needed to go on and make an impact in the world. Wherever possible, we operate commercial businesses that give you on-site real work experience to develop your practical skills and prepare you for your chosen career.

Secondly, it’s all about quality. Whether it’s innovative teaching, learning and assessment, being a centre of vocational excellence or obtaining Learning and Skills Beacon status, being the best is always our aim.

This is also reflected in our commitment to providing the very best facilities in which you can learn and develop, and with over £45 million invested in recent years there’s concrete proof that we’re prepared to put our money where our mouth is.

Finally, we understand that everything has to be about you and so have introduced a range of support measures to ensure that your time at college is not only a productive one, but an enjoyable one too. Whether it’s individual personal tutors, dedicated learning support, help with funding and finance, health and welfare assistance or careers advice to help you prepare for life after college, everything is in place to help you achieve your goals and have the time of your life.

Operating alongside the academic provision, we operate a number of sports academies to help Sports Studies students wishing to develop their skills in a particular sport while gaining a nationally recognised vocational qualification at the same time.

Available to all Sports Studies students studying on further education and higher education courses, the academies provide coaching sessions delivered by professional coaches, access to a strength and conditioning coach and physiotherapist and a focus on the range of skills and knowledge needed for a career in sport – all alongside your chosen academic programme.

It goes without saying that the courses also make use of our excellent facilities, including numerous indoor and outdoor pitches, courts, specialist fitness resources and the state-of-the-art Sports Therapy and Injury Rehabilitation Centre.

From post-16 to postgraduate and professional development, Moulton College provides a wide range of full- and part-time courses to set you on your way to a brighter future.

We are an established Centre of Excellence for Education and Training for the Natural, Built and Recreational Environment and offer unrivalled facilities alongside a supportive environment that ensures everyone achieves their goals.

Whether you’re a school leaver, returning to college after a break, looking for professional development or wanting to combine study with work, you’ll find we’ve got something for you.

Moulton College has a diverse population of students and staff. We are very proud that the work we do to ensure equality and inclusion has been recognised by the National Centre for Diversity and we have achieved their level 2 Investors in Diversity accredited status.

During their time at Moulton College we challenge our students to discuss and reflect on equality, diversity and inclusion themes and issues. This page showcases the winning entries to our annual equality and diversity student poster competition.

Moulton College is committed to providing outstanding education and training opportunities and makes every reasonable effort to provide services and facilities that enable everyone to benefit and succeed. On this page you will find links to our Equality policies, commitments and objectives along with a range of data sets that illustrate the diversity across our College.

A critical area of education everywhere is research, as it yields results that can have a lasting impact on almost every aspect of life.

We’re no different here at Moulton and research plays a big part in our higher education offer. All students on our HE programmes undertake independent research, which is usually related to their area of interest and overseen by an experienced member of the academic staff.

We are growing our number of postgraduate research students and staff members with research backgrounds all the time, which is leading to direct impacts in a variety of areas within the land-based industries. Examples of current projects being conducted include work in animal welfare, environmental management and equine studies.

In developing our research work, we are working closely with a number of universities such as Northampton, Lancaster, De Montfort in Leicester and Warwick.

The exceptional faculty at Moulton College have not only helped my child excel academically but also fostered a love for learning that I never expected.

Really would not recommend going to this college. The lecturers on the course i took offered very little support or guidance, this even occurred when i made the difficult decision to leave. I emailed my course manager for advice and he failed to get back to me. I undertook a higher education sports course and the way the head lecturer talked about it on one of their open days a year ago made it seem it could better any of the sports courses at loughborough university. However the course itself was boring, the lectures were extremely average and the lack of help and care made me want to leave. I have never been so let down by something that was built up to supposedly give me a greater opportunity in my future. Anyone in my position who is looking to do an undergraduate course or is wanting to do a top up from their HND go to a proper university. I have been left paying for something I didn’t enjoy and i am now currently looking for a job.

I study countryside management and it is very unorganised from the beginning of our two year course to the end ALL of our teachers have left. The college is as useful as chocolate fire guard they are more worried about students wearing lanyards than their education

I studied there between 2011 and 2014 and gained a Foundation degree in Applied Animal Studies. I did love my time there, my education was rich and i made life long friends. Yes the staff are over worked, but they are good and in my time i really bonded with some. I am dyslexic and the help i received on arrival to start my course was excellent. The facilities were really good (i know they have changed so i cannot speak for them now) and the grounds are very nice and well kept. And there is good, affordable canteen facilities. Yes the landyards are a faff but they are there for ID and student safety. The college is ran in the efforts to make money but i dont think that is always a bad thing, however, the ability to retain new staff is, leaving them reliant one phd students to teach whole modules. Often this left me feeling likw there were teaching quality deficits compared to the more experienced lectures. But over all i thought it was incredibly worth it. Worth the stress, tears and mayhem. I now have a useable and worthwhile qualification plus skills and memories i will keep for life.
