UCL is London's leading multidisciplinary university, with more than 11,000 staff and 38,000 students from 150 different countries. Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, UCL was the first university in England to welcome students of any religion and the first to welcome women on equal terms with men. We are continually investing in our teaching, learning and study spaces across campus, the newest of which include the Cruciform Hub and the Art Deco Senate House building. UCL has 18 specialist libraries with more than two million books and subscriptions to more than 35,000 journals, and historic material in Special Collections. The UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE) offers courses in 17 languages, some of which can be taken for credits towards degree programmes. UCLU has a range of facilities available for students to use. This includes four cafés, three bars, two shops, an events venue, a gym, and a hair salon. UCLU also has a study space, with plasma screens, desktop computers, white boards, tables for group work and sofas.
UCL is one of the world’s leading multi-disciplinary universities. We operate in a global context and are committed to excellence, innovation and the promotion of global understanding in all our activities: research, teaching, learning, enterprise and community engagement. Our distinctive approach to research, education and innovation will further inspire our community of staff, students and partners to transform how the world is understood, how knowledge is created and shared and the way that global problems are solved. London’s Global University: a diverse intellectual community, engaged with the wider world and committed to changing it for the better; recognised for our radical and critical thinking and its widespread influence; with an outstanding ability to integrate our education, research, innovation and enterprise for the long-term benefit of humanity.
Insights from UCL research address the great challenges facing the world – bringing benefits in health, culture, policy, business and beyond. Individually and in collaboration, UCL experts develop insights relevant to humanity’s major problems. Society reaps many benefits from their excellent research, some of which occur immediately, while others develop over years or generations. UCL is the top-rated university in the UK for research strength in the Research Excellence Framework (REF), published in December 2014, by a measure of average research score multiplied by staff numbers submitted. We submitted more than 2,500 staff to be assessed in REF 2014, and our researchers received a ‘grade point average’ of 3.22 (out of 4), giving UCL an overall research power greater than both the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. We also had the greatest ‘impact power’ (impact ‘grade point average’ x number of staff submitted) of any university.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
Absolute misery studying here.
For ref, I did a mechanical engineering degree.
Department is extremely outdated, staff do not care about student's progress as they'd rather get on with their own research and hate teaching.
Course is outdated. Would have chosen somewhere else 100% if I could go back.
There's a reason the student satisfaction is so low.

Nice location, good facilities, is a permanent building site (not important but noticeable). Absolutely terrible teaching. Staff have no interest in teaching undergrads, let alone helping them. Definitely do not study Geography here, unless your interest is only in having the certificate and name of UCL on your CV, in which case fair enough, but maybe choose a different course. Other departments may be ok.

As we know, UCL is of course one of the top 10 universities over the world.
The academic power and capability are actually beyond the general public's expectations.
For example, in the field of brain sciences and neurosciences which have been becoming more important as the future tech., UCL is placed 2nd just behind Harvard University in the world. Other than that, the research capabilities of UCL in education and architecture are the world top.
I was once a visiting PhD student of UCL (I am currently working in MIT)
, and I was so satisfied with the life in UCL. Especially, professors (+lecturers) and PhD guys were incredibly smart and genius.
Excellent Univ.
