The University of Cambridge is a collegiate public research university in Cambridge, England. Founded in 1209, Cambridge is the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world's fourth-oldest surviving university. The university grew out of an association of scholars who left the University of Oxford after a dispute with the townspeople. The two ancient universities share many common features and are often referred to jointly as "Oxbridge".

With more than 18,000 students from all walks of life and all corners of the world, nearly 9,000 staff, 31 Colleges and 150 Departments, Faculties, Schools and other institutions, no two days are ever the same at the University of Cambridge. At the heart of this confederation of Departments, Schools, Faculties and Colleges is a central administration team. It is small because the Colleges are self-governing and teaching staff carry out much of the daily administration at Cambridge.

The University of Cambridge is rich in history - its famous Colleges and University buildings attract visitors from all over the world. But the University's museums and collections also hold many treasures which give an exciting insight into some of the scholarly activities, both past and present, of the University's academics and students.

The University of Cambridge is one of the world's oldest universities and leading academic centres, and a self-governed community of scholars. Its reputation for outstanding academic achievement is known world-wide and reflects the intellectual achievement of its students, as well as the world-class original research carried out by the staff of the University and the Colleges.

Many of the University's customs and unusual terminology can be traced to roots in the early years of the University's long history, and this booklet looks to the past to find the origins of much that is distinctive in the University of today.

Best University, six very happy years (Selwyn College) in a beautiful city which became a second home. Excellent undergraduate experience and community which compliments the outstanding taught postgraduate and research community and exceptional programmes. There is immense support available from pastoral to administrative to fellow student support systems and networks. The extensive application process may seem a daunting prospect but the entrance exams and interviews are an illuminating experience, while you also have the opportunity to visit your prospective college and meet renowned scholars who will challenge you respectfully and if you're successful, shape you learning and your future.

One of the best university in the world with thousands of scholars and brilliant minds. The city itself is so beautiful to explain with words but to witness it. Without this university our world would be so much behind the clock. For foreign students the dorm and house rent is very high and every one seems to love riding bikes in this county. Anyone who comes to Cambridge this university is a must visit place along the way of kings college trinity university and other educational institutions.

There's nothing better than the best. I've always dreamed to be here as a kid, coming to this university for a conference made me feel my childhood dream was a reality. Best facilities, well diversified to enhance specialised research in every field of study. Lecturers are world class, with good disability access ♿, majority of the parking spaces are free, some with electric car chargers. WORLD CLASS, the best.

Dream of every student University of Cambridge is exactly not an University but a group of highly reputed research colleges. Founded in 1209 and granted a royal charter by King Henry III in 1231, Cambridge is the second-oldest university. Cambridge is formed from a variety of institutions which include 31 constituent colleges and over 100 academic departments organised into six schools. All these institutes have beautiful heritage buildings along the Cam river where the fun loving students takes you to a beautiful boat ride.

remarkable university with some of the most arrogant grad students. :) You will only be respected for your conduct but not your degree. A degree from Cambridge doesn't make yourself a higher being than others. Be humble.

Superb university. I studied there years ago, and go back there several times a year. They keep in touch with their alumni, running many events. I love their commitment to research, both physical and medical. Thankfully they are on the frontiers of medical research, allowing us to live longer and healthier lives.
