Cheshire College – South & West is a new College for Cheshire and is the result of a successful merger between South Cheshire College and West Cheshire College in March 2017. Cheshire College – South & West offers exciting opportunities for our 11,000 students and 1,300 Apprentices to access high-quality teaching and learning at our modern Campuses in Crewe, Ellesmere Port and Chester.
We aim to provide our students with the skills, experience and qualifications that will prepare them for their future career or higher-level study at the College or university. We encourage our students to become confident individuals who will make valuable contributions to businesses and the local economy in their future careers.
We pride ourselves on our strong links with local businesses of all sizes who benefit from tailored training delivered in the workplace or at College Campuses, and from our provision of a wide range of Apprenticeships such as Accountancy, Catering, Construction, Engineering and Dental Nursing. We work with many major local employers across the regions such Bentley, Brownlow Furniture, Ecolab, Vauxhall Motors, Scottish Power, Unilever, Brunning and Price and National Grid.
As an approved Apprenticeship provider we can support local employers who are using the new Levy system to recruit and train Apprentices within their business. Our Business Development Team can also conduct a training needs analysis and make proposals for a bespoke training and development strategy for the organisation, whilst being able to access financial support available to businesses.
Governors make a valuable contribution to the success of the College. Their role is to determine the direction and strategy of the College, to be accountable for the proper use of the public funds entrusted to it and to oversee the quality of all it does. Governors are appointed to one of a number of categories: external members who have the necessary skills to ensure the Corporation carries out the functions under article 3 of the Articles of Government, staff and student members. The Principal / CEO is also a governor. The governing body does not manage the College or organise its day-to-day affairs, which is the job of the Principal / CEO, who is appointed by the governing body.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
Great college for meeting new people and making friends from all over Cheshire. Lessons can be quite dry and boring, learning is out the window, it is more like remember this and research that for the assignment. Some lectures are good but others can be disrespectful and can really make you feel down. They will also talk about you behind your back. Tutors are mostly helpful with everything. The work can get really stressful too.

This institution is vast in the amount of courses that it contains. I would definitely recommend coming here as it is absolutely astounding. I am currently (16/6/16) on an ICT course which is a Level 3, 90 credit BTEC extended diploma. This can then lead me onto a University and study a specific topic which allows me to further my career. When I came out of High School I was searching for Colleges and Sixth forms to go to, west Cheshire was the first College I saw and instantly got my attention. I then proceeded to fill out my application. They were instant with their replies and the transport to the College is convenient to where I live. Adding onto this the transport is free due to increased demand. The facilities are great and are kept to a really clean and tidy standard. I would definitely recommend coming here to study further education as the staff are also great and are of great help.
